"War and a Child" by Alberto Panetta.
I was commissioned by the author to produce over 20 illustrations for this book.
An autobiographical account of a eight year old boy and his family. Struggling to survive the Nazi occupation of Italy and the brutal Battle of Monte Cassino in the Second World War.
It was a challenging job, to depict scenes accurately as remembered by the author. Quite a few changes were made during the process, but the finished results are as true to the places and events experienced by my client as I could produce. I am very pleased with the way the final design looks.
